Painful packing and a British holiday

I literally feel like I have spent a week preparing for a week away, what is that about?! With a baby, toddler and husband to get ready here is my holiday countdown….

10. You wash all the clothes and then your husband and child choose to wear the clothes just before you depart, and you wash them again

9. It rains so said clothes have to be dried inside or in the tumble dryer, in the commotion you tumble dry your new nice top

8. You have to hunt down all waterproofs from the very safe place you put them, why do you need waterproofs in June? Oh yes because wisely you are going on a staycation in the UK

7. The once ‘spare’ back seat of the car is now filled with an extra human and therefore you have invested in a roof box, very grown up. Said roof box needs to be put on the car….this will be interesting

6. You may be running around trying to get everything ready but priorities mean wine was bought and packed over a week ago

5. Toddler finds all new holiday ‘things’ and proceeds to open them. Including the rubber ring for the pool which it is suggested might work well in the bath

4. You decide it would be lovely to have a clean house to come home to….and spend a day like a mentalist giving the house a spring clean amongst the washing and packing

3. You pile stuff up in the hallway and realise even with the roof box it’s unlikely to fit so start working out what you don’t need (l literally do need everything though)

2. You have arranged an online shop for when you arrive but still have three bags of food

1. You realise that you will probably need a holiday to get over the holiday

Pray for sunshine please! ☀️

Ha ha love this post, great list. And so right, I am sure we spend more time planning and preparing to go on holiday than we actually spend on holiday! Have a good time. #MarvMonday

Oh yes. This will be me this weekend. I’m so glad that it isn’t just me that runs around like a lunatic trying to clean the house on top of everything else just so that we come home to a clean house? As if we aren’t stressed enough when we’re trying to pack for tiny people?

Thanks for linking up with #fartglitter xx

Eek, I hope you have your sunshine, I have to confess it has rained a good deal on our holiday guests this past week, but we have made the best of it with some great activities. #MarvMondays

Ha, ha! I’ve definitely experienced some of these when we’ve been away. Toddlers opening things packed for the holiday and everyone wearing all the clean clothes you have washed and packed always seems to happen! Thanks for sharing this on #MarvMondays, hope you have a lovely break 🙂 Emily

Oh lovely this is so me!! And once it’s all done the OH helpfully pipes up and says well it’s the UK so if you forget something we can always buy it? So why did I spend the last week pulling my hair out?! Thanks so much for joining us at #BloggerClubUK hope to see you again this week x

I feel distressed about the fact this is all so common; we all deserve shiny holiday medals and ice cold champers as soon as we get to the said destination! I may have suggest these ideas next time! Thanks for the comments Xx

I know that pain. Although my OH never comes on holiday…you’d expect when we arrived home he’d have done some cleaning (seeing as he moans about my lack of it), tidied up after himself. But no. Hope it stays dry – we’re camping in a couple of weeks

I love staycations in the UK, but like you, often feel like I need a holiday to get over the holiday. Hope you had a wonderful time. Thank you for linking up to the #DreamTeam

Ha ha! Why don’t we just stay at home! Holidays with kids are definitely not as relaxing as they were before! Thanks for linking up to #TheList x
